Roland DG releases Roland PrintStudio by Caldera, the latest version of the Mac OS RIP; ideal for demanding business environments

Today, Roland DG announced the launch of Roland PrintStudio (RPS) by Caldera across the EU region, North and South America. Offering a whole host of state-of-the-art time-saving and efficiency-driving tools, users of Roland DG technology in even the busiest environments will now be able to optimise their print production processes with this newly upgraded RIP and print management software package.

Ready for the latest Mac OS, armed with APPE 4 and available in multiple languages, Roland PrintStudio by Caldera speeds up image processing and improves organisation for wide-format businesses of all kinds. Offering a newly designed interface, enhanced colour control, better file preparation and blisteringly fast RIP speeds, to ensure that users can deliver on spec, on time, every time.

Valery de March, OEM Business Director at Caldera comments “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Roland DG, and bring the latest version of Roland PrintStudio by Caldera to the sign and graphics market. Users will be pleased to be able to take advantage of extensive colour management features, create an unlimited number of presets, use automated functionalities and hot-folders and take advantage of advanced tiling and nesting tools.”

Says Paul Willems, Head of Business Development and Product Management, EMEA – “With RPS there are multiple features to ensure enhanced colour-accuracy, including hundreds of spot colours within the Roland Color & Metallic System Libraries and support for RAL, HKS and Pantone® colour swatches. Users can access our library of media profiles on the Roland Profile Center, and Roland PrintStudio offers the ability for users to create their own ICC profiles, and provides support for low-cost colour spectrophotometers.”

To ensure users can deliver output to impress, advanced features for special colour generation (Wh/Gl/Mt) have been introduced to ensure perfect pixel to pixel registration.  Users can also create personalised output templates that allow them to produce products to match their customers’ needs.

To support businesses from start to finish, RPS enables users to work quickly and accurately throughout the entire RIP – Print / Print and Cut process. Powerful tools include contour nesting to minimise media waste, plus a new blur & bleed function removes the risk of white lines at cutting edges. To assist with post-production processes users can easily add custom grommet marks to their artwork and an Application Guide tool automatically assigns a number to each tile while generating a summary PDF to assist installers with large-scale graphics.
