Roland DG Launches New D-EA2 Ink to Deliver DGXPRESS Quality at Half the Cost
September 1st 2025 – Roland DG, the world's leading provider of digital printing solutions, today announced the launch of its new D-EA2 eco-solvent ink, engineered to deliver the renowned DGXPRESS quality and productivity at approximately half of existing running costs.*
Designed for seamless integration with the DGXPRESS ER-642**, Roland DG’s 64-inch eco-solvent inkjet printer, the D-EA2 ink aims to deliver high image quality with lower ink consumption. By reducing the price per millilitre and adding ink ejection control technology, it achieves premium output whilst significantly cutting running costs.
The newly formulated ink has been engineered to achieve vivid colour reproduction, stable greys, smooth gradations, and natural skin tones, even in standard four-colour CMYK printing. In combination with enhanced Roland Intelligent Pass Control 2.0, D-EA2 ink delivers sharper images and maintains colour consistency and gradation reproduction at high print speeds.
Integration with VersaWorks 7 (VW7) RIP software maximises performance by utilising 16-bit rasterisation and advanced dither patterns to minimise graininess and improve detail. Processing speeds are up to 3.9 times faster than earlier versions, allowing larger print jobs to be handled quickly and efficiently, further increasing throughput for production environments.
