The Binary Box turns blank spaces into magical places

The Binary Box has taken its creative space to its limits, using its Roland TrueVIS VG-540 wide format printer/cutter to print a veritable gallery of graphics to showcase its design talents.

"We love combining great design with modern technologies to cover a whole host of surfaces. Our Roland TrueVIS VG-540 helps us to achieve this thanks to its vibrancy and quality of print, great reliability and sleek design and build quality. It's a workhorse that always delivers."

Chris Chadwick - The Binary Box

For this the business relies on a Roland TrueVIS VG-540 eco-solvent printer/cutter, which has doubled output, thanks to its increased print speed and lead times – enabling a 50 per cent increase of the B2B side of the business in the last year alone – while offering higher print quality.

"Slowly but surely the demand for customised interiors for the commercial workspace started to grow," says Chris. "Now we offer a full service from design, production and installation for commercial interior feature graphics, manifestations and a whole host of weird and wonderful applications."

The weirdest, he says, was an entire building wrap using brick-effect vinyl for an art installation, located on the side of a water park. "This was a real head-scratcher of a project," he comments.

Now based in Manchester, UK, The Binary Box has transformed its space into a veritable gallery of the out-of-the-box work it achieves, a showcase of its speciality interior and exterior vinyl wraps on walls, floors, table tops and stairs. The magic of colour and design runs throughout the studio, from a room transformed into a ski chalet with wood cabin walls, to a huge full-colour wall wrap of Albert Einstein and custom-designed table tennis table.

"We love combining great design with modern technologies to cover a whole host of surfaces," says Chris. "It's a great way to transform a space and can really add some great vibrancy to create a stimulating working environment."

On the Roland TrueVIS VG-540, he says: "It offers vibrancy and quality of print, great reliability and sleek design and build quality. It's a workhorse that always delivers."
