‘DGSHAPE - by Roland’ celebrates success at IDS 2017

With live demos of 2 innovative new digital dental devices, 25-plus seminars hosted by 16 internationally-renowned Key Opinion Leaders and 1 high-energy celebration event with 100s of guests, the ‘DGSHAPE - by Roland’ booth proved a ‘must-visit’ destination at the recent International Dental Show (IDS) in Cologne, Germany.

Taking pride of place on the ‘DGSHAPE – by Roland’ booth and attracting a huge amount of interest were the very latest additions to the ‘DGSHAPE – by Roland’ range of market-leading digital dental technologies; the DWX-52DC 5-axis dry dental mill with Automatic Disc Changer and the DWP-80S dental 3D printer.

Visitors were impressed with the ease-of-use, material compatibility and unattended production capability offered by the DWX-52DC which can mill a wide range of materials including zirconia, wax, PMMA, composite resin, PEEK, gypsum, CoCr sinter metal and fibre-reinforced resin.

The new DWP-80S dental 3D printer also generated a huge amount of buzz at the show. Visitors were excited to see how simple and streamlined the denture component fabrication process is with the printer and included Quick Denta software.

A highlight of IDS 2017 was undoubtedly the launch event which took place on the ‘DGSHAPE – by Roland’ booth on Day 3 of the show. Customers, Key Opinion Leaders, partners, dealers and staff all came together to celebrate the launch of DGSHAPE Corporation, which started operation on 3rd April 2017. The launch follows the announcement by Roland DG in February that its 3D business, which includes its dental milling and 3D print technologies, would transfer to the newly-established, wholly-owned subsidiary.

Speaking at the party, Kohei Tanabe, President of DGSHAPE Corporation, explained: ‘I still remember our first presence at IDS in 2011. Our booth position was the same as today but the size of our booth was tiny. Slowly we expanded our business and today we are very happy to say that we are a leading global manufacturer of dental milling devices. We would like to speed up the process of product innovation and business growth and in order to do this, from 3rd April, we are going to be an independent brand; DGSHAPE Corporation. Most importantly, we are going to be even more focused to ensure our customers’ continued satisfaction.’

During the show, customers and Key Opinion Leaders from around the world assisted on the booth and hosted a wide-ranging series of informative and insightful seminars to highlight the benefits of digital CAD/CAM.

Kohei Tanabe explained the valued and crucial role that customers and product ambassadors play in the on-going success of the brand: ‘In order to convey our message we have today our very important Key Opinion Leaders from all over the world and we would like to thank them very much for giving great presentations throughout the show. They have shared their expertise and knowledge with others so that they too can enjoy the exciting clinical and commercial benefits of ‘DGSHAPE -by Roland’ digital dental technology. We very much look forward to continuing these discussions and building on these relationships in this next exciting phase.’
